SMS Notifications

NxtShyft offers optional text message alerts to help job seekers and employers stay on top of activity on their account. This program is entirely opt-in — you will never be texted unless you explicitly turn it on.

What we text about

If you opt in and add a mobile number, NxtShyft may send you SMS notifications for things that happen on your account, such as:

Job seekers and employers can each choose exactly which of these alerts they want by text, by email, or both — nothing is texted that a user hasn't explicitly enabled.

How you opt in

Opt-in happens through a web form in your NxtShyft account, on the Notification Preferences screen (seekers: Profile tab; employers and admins: Settings tab). Two explicit actions are required before any text is ever sent: adding a mobile phone number, and separately checking the "Text" box for at least one alert type. Reproduced below, verbatim, is that form as it appears in the product today:

Reproduced from the logged-in Notification Preferences panel — the phone field is empty and every "Text" box is unchecked (opted out) by default.

No phone number is ever added to an account, and no text is ever sent, unless the account holder has both added a phone number here and checked "Text" for that specific alert type. Users can enable as many or as few alert types as they want, and can turn any of them off again at any time from this same screen.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform — typically a few messages per week for an active user, and none at all if nothing relevant happens on your account.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message from us at any time to unsubscribe immediately. Reply HELP for help. You can also uncheck the SMS option at any time from your account's Notification Preferences — no need to text anything.
