This policy explains what information NxtShyft ("NxtShyft," "we," "us") collects when you use our website and job-marketplace platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to job seekers, employers, and visitors to nxtshyft.com.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), first and last name, and role (job seeker or employer). Job seekers may also provide a date of birth (used to confirm eligibility for age-restricted job listings) and a phone number.
Job seekers may add a profile photo, a short intro video, a bio, a resume, work-type preferences, weekly availability, and a home location (city/state/ZIP) used to match you with nearby jobs. Employers may add a company name, logo, industry, website, description, and business location. This information is shown to the other side of the marketplace as part of how the platform works — e.g., employers see seeker profiles who apply to their jobs, and seekers see employer/company information on job listings.
We keep records of job applications, messages exchanged between seekers and employers, application status changes, employer ratings of applicants, and similar activity needed to operate the marketplace.
Employer subscriptions are billed through Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe processes and stores payment details directly under its own privacy and security practices. We retain a record of your plan, billing status, and subscription history.
If you opt in, we send email and/or SMS notifications about activity on your account (see our SMS Notifications page for details on text messaging specifically). Email is sent via SendGrid; SMS is sent via Twilio. You control which alerts you receive, by which channel, from your account's Notification Preferences.
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We share information with the service providers that power the platform, each of whom processes it only on our behalf:
We also share the profile and application information necessary for the marketplace to function — e.g., a job seeker's application (including their profile) is shared with the employer they applied to. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NxtShyft or our users.
Some jobs on NxtShyft have a minimum age requirement, and our signup flow verifies date of birth against that requirement. Users under 18 who create an account go through an additional parental consent step before certain platform features (like applying to jobs) become available. We collect a parent/guardian email for this purpose and retain a record that consent was given.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and restricted access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or by email.
